Rotary Club of Quincy
Attn: Request for Funds Committee
POB 825 Quincy, IL 62306
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
FIRST – The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service
SECOND – High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society
THIRD – The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life
FOURTH – The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
In an effort to help meet this Objective the following guidelines have been created for the Rotary Request for Funds Committee:
- A single award can be as large as 20% of budget (typical awards range from $250 to $500).
- Awards can be for non-recurring needs. After an award has been granted, the waiting period to reapply for the same award is two years.
- Awards can be project based, sponsorship, or advertising in nature. Requests for capital equipment, capital facility improvements, endowments, or operational expense will not be accepted.
The process for requesting funds begins with getting the request to the committee chair. If the request seems to meet the guidelines, the chair will present the request to the balance of the committee. If the committee decides the request meets the guidelines, there is money in the budget, and something they want to see The Club do they will recommend the request to The Board. The Board’s decision will be communicated to the requestor either by the treasurer via funds or committee chair if it is denied.
